Powering Possibility, One Project at a Time |
Dear Friends and Supporters, |
This summer, I had the privilege of witnessing something remarkable: possibility taking shape—in classrooms, on basketball courts, and inside health clinics.
When we talk about “access” at AHEAD, we mean more than just materials or infrastructure. We mean dignity. Opportunity. The chance for young people to discover what they’re capable of when someone hands them the tools—and believes in them.
I saw it in the eyes of students, their excitement shining as they saw the 36 new computers donated by AHEAD, Inc. I saw it in the laughter and energy of students racing across a brand-new basketball court and soccer field—in brand-new sneakers—running faster and standing taller than they ever had before. I saw it in the quiet determination of a medical staff delivering care, no longer limited by flickering power or failing equipment.
These are small moments that hold enormous meaning. They tell us what’s possible when a community is trusted, resourced, and uplifted. And none of it happens without you.
Whether you gave your time, your expertise, or your resources, you helped create these moments. And while we’ve celebrated big milestones, we know this is just the beginning. There’s still more to build, more to power, more young people waiting for their chance to shine.
Thank you for standing with us, and with them. We’re honored to be in this work together and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
With deep gratitude, Donna Williams-Ngirwa, DDS Executive Director, AHEAD Inc.

New Outdoor Sports Court Unveiled
|
|
|
Building Community Through Play and Health Education
In partnership with Maruku Secondary School, we proudly unveiled the region’s first outdoor basketball court this past July—creating a vibrant new space for youth to build fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits.
To celebrate this milestone, we hosted a dynamic 4-day Sports & Wellness Camp, engaging students in basketball, soccer and volleyball training. With guidance from volunteer coaches, students gained new skills, confidence, and valuable experiences. It was great to see the excitement generated by Coach Brooke Tucker and Coach Malya Hirschkowitz as they led a coed training session, creating an experience that both focused on skills building and created an inclusive learning environment for all the players.
Preparation for the camp began weeks in advance, with students eagerly practicing using online drills and video tutorials created by our dedicated AHEAD volunteers.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who made this possible—especially our donors, partners, and on-the-ground volunteers. |
|
We’re Keeping the Momentum Going—And We Need Your Support! To expand the impact of this initiative, we are continuing to seek: Funding for additional sports gear and ongoing court maintenance Support for upcoming youth programs and workshops |

Building the Next Generation of Technologists |
|
|
At Maruku Secondary School, we’re doing more than teaching students how to use technology—we’re empowering them to master it. What is now a basic laptop access program is planned to grow into a student-run repair center and the foundation for a future regional tech hub.
Our long-term vision is bold: equip students with real-world tech repair skills, preparing them for advanced training in AI, machine learning, and beyond. |
|
Thanks to early support, students are already gaining hands-on experience. But to keep the program running—and growing—we still need critical supplies: Laptop power cords and international adaptors Professional repair toolkits Common replacement parts: keyboards, batteries, screens
Printed repair and maintenance guides Whether you contribute tools, parts, or funding, your support fuels innovation and opportunity for students who are ready to lead the tech future. |

AHEAD’s 3rd Annual Health Fair in Tanzania: A Model of Global Compassion in Action |
|
|
NYRN Nurse volunteers. Over 700 patients served, lives changed, and a community uplifted.
We’re thrilled to share the incredible impact of AHEAD Incorporated’s 3rd Annual Health Fair in Maruku, Tanzania. In partnership with AHEAD-Tanzania and an extraordinary team of volunteer medical professionals—including nurses from the New York Relief Network (NYRN)—this year’s fair provided critical health services to more than 700 residents in rural Bukoba. |
|
Held over three powerful days at the Maruku Health Center, the fair offered everything from women’s health and pediatrics to dental surgery and neurology—thanks to a compassionate, multidisciplinary team of volunteers who self-funded their travel to serve.
Beyond the medical care, this mission was about connection, capacity-building, and solidarity. Volunteers worked hand in hand with local healthcare providers to deliver care with dignity, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism. The result? A strengthened community and a deepened commitment to global health equity.
